Is there any way to use the pictures in the photo galleries as a wallpaper for my desktop? When I try to view them or copy them, all i get is the border.

It would be great to see new wallpaper options available on the swarm website.

You can't copy them I know that. You can take a screen shot (print screen) and save that but it's not quite the same.

What do you mean precisely by the photo galleries?
If you mean the flash on the main page it gets a bit tricky. If there is an actual photo gallery page that isn't flash enabled I could probably help you get what you want done...

If you mean the photo gallery, click on the game you want, this brings up a pop-up window. Then find the picture you want to have as a background, right click, select something along the lines of save image as, and it should save that photo to where-ever you choose to save it. Then set that as your background.

As a suggestion, you can download webshots for free which then cycles through backgrounds you select from pictures on your computer.

Okay so they mucked with things so you can't quite do that... which is just annoying to a geek like me so I found where you can find the photos.
If you are using firefox, when you bring up the popup press <ctrl><u> which will show the page source.
In there you will see a list of the photo files (eg /uploads/photo/FF5C14C868CB466DBB3A19DFFE281FC3.jpg)

Only thing is they aren't quite where you expect... If you take the file name and append it to the following you will see only the photo in your browser

Then you can do what I originally said. It's a pain but it will work.

If there is a specific picture that's cycling on the flash display on the main page you want and it's not in the Gallery, you can probably email any of the Swarm people and let them know the picture. They'll send you a copy that you could set as your desktop.

Thanks Bones, that did the trick. Now I just have to find a way to make it less pixelated once I have the picture.

niknak, do you think images they would send would be of a higher quality than the ones in the photo galleries?

By photo galleries, I mean the ones listed under the Fan Center > Digital Media link.

Sometimes. if they get the original from Bruce, the photographer it'll be nicer, otherwise it'll be about the same I think.

If you have Windows 7 there is a tool called "snipping tool' that is very easy to use when cropping out photos from web galleries. I think it's also available in Vista and maybe XP as well.

I see now that they've added a few new wallpapers to the website. They look good, wonder if they will make some for any other players.
