FWIW, I thought it would be helpful to post a list (hopefully not a whine-list) of useful things missing from MNSWARM.com. While there is a bunch of useful information on the site, there may be a few improvements that can be considered, like...
  • Schedule - wow...you should be able to get this just about anyway you need it. A couple of years ago, there was an Outlook-friendly version that worked very well in spreading the schedule among potential fans (reminding them to come to the X). Other than the mediocre graphical version currently on the site, a link to the NLL version is nice; also a CSV version that could be used for various uploads. The schedules could also include the full name of the opponets (e.g. Calgary Roughnecks, not just Calgary or Roughnecks). I really like the weekly updated version with the season-to-date results for posting at my cube at work...helps rally interest.
  • Logos - other than a few, well-worn graphics nothing much has happened here in the past couple of years. Just being able to grab the logo and putting it on a board, blog, email, website, et al. help "swarm it up".
  • Wallpaper - again, only a couple of well-worn graphics here, too. It would be nice to have every team member on a wallpaper for those who want "their player" on their desktop. It would also be nice to get the poster-shot on a Swarm-logoed wallpaper, the SPT, and the JSPT to name a few more. The field-views are also useful in introducing potential fans to the X-view of a game.
  • Game recaps/press releases/infomercials - it would be nice to have an archive of these so links could be sent to help promote the team.
  • Weekly Swarm-mail - I suggested this a few years ago, but now I will put it out there again...how about a weekly push e-mail with a recap of the previous weeks game, an outlook for the next game, and a bit of commentary--with links to the website, NLL.com, et al.? This would be an easy place to drive prospective folks to help them engage in supporting the team (it would also help get a uniform message out to the loyal season ticket holders, too). I believe this communication method is woefully underutilized by the organization. And, because I have previous experience doing this type of communication for national organizations, if the organization doesn't have the resources to make this happen--talk to me and I will volunteer the small time commitment to write/send this type of communication (just need a listserv to manage the emails/opt-in/out). biggrin.gif
Lastly (for this rant)...it is becoming time to update the website. While the season is upon us, this would not be the right time to make this change; just a suggesiton for the coming off-season.

Now, it's your turn. Think rationally, and post your observations about MNSWARM.com. After having reviewed the rest of the NLL team websites this fall, I can confidently say MNSWARM.com is one of the better sites, but even the best should always be striving for improvement.

Go Swarm! rolleyes.gif
