Full Version: Brock Boyle may come back to Minnesota

The Shamrox may fold this week according to NLL Insider.

http://www.nllinsider.com/2008/12/08/chica...ld-by-mid-week/

If they fold:

The Bad News - So much for our closest road trip. sad.gif

The Good News - Drafting Brock Boyle in the dispersal draft and bringing him back to Minnesota!!! biggrin.gif

They got til Wednesday to find new owners. If not, they fold and a dispersal draft could occur on Friday.

Come on Shamrox, get a deal done. It won't be the same without them.

Good luck!!!
Corporal
The Swarm would draft 10th if Chicago gets dispersed. The order will probably be the same order as the Sting dispersal draft earlier this year.

1. Boston
2. Edmonton
3. Toronto
4. Rochester
5. Calgary
6. Colorado
7. San Jose
8. Philadelphia
9. New York
10. Minnesota
11. Portland
12. Buffalo

Anthony Cosmo and Scott Self would go 1 and 2 most likely and not be available for the Swarm.

Shamrox players I would be interested in:

Roster

Brock Boyle
Thomas Montour
Mike Kirk
Kevin Fines
Cody Jacobs
Josh Funk

Although drafting Boyle is possible I would start by finding a new favorite player to replace Norbraten since he isn't playing this season. biggrin.gif

Yay at the Brock possibility, but NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love going to Chicago, it was so much fun last year!!!

(And what might that do to the Fann Cup?)

As we speak, there are fevered negotiations between me and myself on this topic. This possible Shamrox issue is throwing another fire in the iron between the parties. Me wants Brock Boyle back but myself wants the Shamrox to stay in the league. Both me and myself have their own agendas in this fight. biggrin.gif

I certainly hope they can find new ownership. It would be too bad to lose such a good close rivalry. Also, the additional downside to a dispersal draft is that two more of the new swarm members would likely lose their spots.

I wonder if any of the teams, say Boston would be willing to make a trade for incoming draft picks.

I say we all put our money together and try to buy them. See if they will let us make payments too haha.

That may or may not be a bad thing. It would depend on who we drafted. If the drafted player brought experience and was able to help us win games then that would be fine with me. But, just because there is a dispersal draft doesn't mean we have to draft anyone. We can always pass and stick with what we have.

I'd put my money one your "myself" winning that discussion. As much as I like Brock and enjoyed watching him play I don't think he will be rejoining the Swarm anytime soon. Sorry Corporal.

I get the feeling from Swarm management also, that Brock probably won't be back, but I sure don't mind asking again and again. If I never ask for Brock back, they will never change their mind. I keep bringing it up, then who knows.

With the tenth pick, there will definitely be a quality player available from the Shamrox. My hunch is if given the chance, the Swarm would prefer to draft defensively in the dispersal draft. If not Brock, then Thomas Montour or Kevin Fines is the type of player that the Swarm would hope drops to tenth, but that maybe wishful thinking. Both can run the floor well on transition and scoop up loosies.
