I'm sure many of you, being as obsessed with this sport as I am, read the articles on the nllinsider website. Does anyone else feel that Shanahan never gives the Swarm any credit? In his last power ranknings he pu them 5th, not a huge deal, but his reasoning was pretty lame. "Could not take advantage of soft schedule down the stretch." Looking at the last half of the season, yes, we did have 5 home games and 4 against the shamrox, but we also had an away game in buffalo, and games against the defending champs (rochester) and the league's highest scoring team (philly.) And I wouldn't say 4 games against chicago was a given four wins or anything. Their record really doesn't show their ability, especially through the second half of the season. They beat rochester, philly, toronto, and us in their 4 game winning streak. Granted, I do think our boys could have at least taken 3 of 4, if not swept, the games against chicago. Anyway, just needed to rant and get that out.

Shanahan is just an idiot with nothing particularly insightful to say.

After our first six games I would've said that our four games against Chicago and our second game against New York would have been a breeze considering how the Shamrox and Titans started their season. But both of those teams turned it on and showed just how good they both are with New York finishing tied with the best record in the league and Chicago beating the Swarm, Knighthawks and Wings. The Swarm, by no means, had a "soft" schedule. The East Division has turned into the old NFL "black and blue" Central Division. Each year is going to produce some excellent divisional match ups and some hard fought games.

I, too, follow the league board and subsequent nllinsider articles and have heard the same complaint from plenty of different fans from almost every team. He has never given the Swarm their just due, and I doubt ever will until we win a Champions Cup and force him to take note. He has his favourite teams (Toronto and Rochester) which is very obvious. I stopped reading his drivel about 4 games into the season this year, and its been working great in causing me less agravation over trivial matters.
