With the revival of the 2008 season, the website could use slight revival also. It was rumored before the cancellation that the website may have a different look just before the start of the season. Whether or not that still is the case, here are some of my suggestions. Overall, the website is above average especially with the news archive, Swarm Performance Team, ticket and multimedia pages but constant improvement is always desired.

My Website Improvements:

1. Fix Registration Process for the Message Board so more fans can express their opinion!!
2. Spruce up the “Schedule Page” with team logos and full team names and arenas where the games are played.
3. Add a National Lacrosse League logo to the home page and each subpage that links directly to the nll.com.
4. More player wallpapers
5. Swarm Performance Team wallpaper
6. A page that fans can have their own Swarm photos posted on.
7. Constant updating of the roster page as players come and go.
8. Countdown timer to season opener.
9. A revolving marquee at the top of home page with Swarm players.
10. Easier to find “Contact” page.

There probably are other items that are needed to be added, dropped or improved but I just can’t think of them yet.

I can't really find much to argue with as far as these suggestions go, especially the first and third ideas. Given that this software is apparently rather easy to modify, I can't think the changes would be that hard to implement for whomever MSE has in charge of the site.

I am aware from postings on the nll/wings message board that there are at least two additional people who have tried but been unable to register for quite sometime.

There is no need and certainly no excuse for impeding fan interest just as they are approaching the front door.

The SWARM has wisely used existing fans to increase interest in the team but any momentum gained by that can be retarded by even the smallest roadblock. Better access to getting people signed up to chat might be helpful in keeping those fans interested enough to buy tickets. The two that I know of have given indications that they attend games regularly.

During the season I do refer people to the site for information. If I have extras, I'll give JJ's card; but my first inclination is to give the website, which might provide the information they are looking for.

For the love of God, put a link on the homepage to the NLL website!!!!

2008 Swarm Schedule

This page definitely needs to be updated ASAP!!!!

I was about to say something tonight when I saw that the Blazers were still listed on the schedule twice.

The schedule page is fixed now.

The promotional schedule page still has 2007 on it. At least 2007 has to be purged.

No progress with the message board registration.

Expect a link on the homepage to NLL.com soon.

Before leaving work today, I had some time to kill, so I thought I'd work my brain with a statistical analysis, of sorts, that relates to you message board posters.

Here are my findings:
Before this posting, the site listed #11,650 posts and #655 registered members. If everyone was equally represented in these postings, that would mean each representative member would have slightly more than #17 messages placed on this board.

The reality is that when tallying up the postings from the "top 10" posters on the Swarm site (I'm #6, and constantly battling Panther for that spot), I come up with a figure of #7,147 postings from these 10 souls. That means that this select group has placed more than 61 percent of all postings on this message site.

Of course WHT (#1,944 postings) and Corporal (#1,757 postings) put the rest of this esteemed group to shame.

A couple of days off with no voice padded my stats some recently. My understanding is there are many people out there who are trying to get registered into the site, but have been unable to do so. I look forward to hearing from them when that gets cleared up.

Now what they need is a little spot called "Corporal's Corner" which directs you to the message boards and Corporal's postings about game previews and reviews. Or just let him add his thoughts directly to the home page.

Yeah, he should have his own "blog" area or something.

Let's don't get carried away folks. Marty and the Swarm aren't that stupid to let me blog on their website. At least I don't think they are. If I were Marty, I don't think I would have me do it either.

I have heard that the "construction sign" will be lifted off the website in about a month, before the regular season opens, after the open house and on the date of the new moon. I am not sure what that means, even though I liked saying that, but I don't think a new website will be under the tree for this upcoming Christmas.

So what exactly is new about the website? Besides the sparkling new NLL logo to link you to the league website, the only difference is the text alert information. Everything else isn't anything that hasn't been there before.

According to Joel Jordan who is in charge on New Business Development for the Swarm, the new website will be up this upcoming Wednesday, January 9th.

Mr. Jordan just sent me an email today saying that the new website debut will be on Thursday not Wednesday. I assume this Thursday but who knows.

I, like most of you, really like the new web site. However, like Corporal said in the first post of this thread, want to be able to see other fan's pictures from the games, and contribute some of my own. Old Goalie has seem some of mine, and he gave them his blessing, so I'd share them if I could. Any word on that being able to happen???

The new message board looks pretty sweet. A lot of new functions that I'll have to look over at a later time. I can't seem to upload a picture though. My last one was deleted for some reason.

The need to fix the link on the webpage (the one next to the Blogs link). The only way I was able to get in was to use the drop-down menu from the banner.

The Blog link at the top of the message board is working now. You can even make comments.

Yeah WHT, I can't seem to upload an avatar either. I tried several photos. I even reduce them in pixels size myself and it still didn't work. So i just picked one of theirs.

Well the registration works now... About time! I checked last week and it still wasn't working so this is good. I got tired of trying to keep up with conversations on two forums so I quit altogether. But now that I am registered and can post I am a happy camper once again.
