Craig Conn will be out for the 2008 season after injuring his knee playing in the summer league. Sting GM and head coach Bob Hamley thinks there should be restrictions in the NLL player's contracts that limits off-season play.

Maybe I'm wrong, but posts online last Spring stated that NLL salaries are in the following financial corridors:
Minimum salaries for rookies = the $7,500 threshhold
NLL players with two years of experience = salary minimums in the $10,000 range
Maximum salaries for veterans = the $23,000 range
And each club can claim two franchise players = 25% more than the maximum number, but only players eligible for unrestricted free agency can be franchised.
Good luck on making restrictions. Maybe there's a shot if you add an extra zero on the back end of all of those salaries.

I don't know where this person got their information but on the NLL boards someone posted that the players make a little more now. Here is what they listed the current salaries at. I didn't think they were this high.
rookies make between $6-8k
Veterans are paid of a sliding scale from $8-28K
Players with a "franchise tag" $28-30+K

You got to keep these players occupied during the eight months of NLL offseason. It helps to keep them in shape and most may prefer battling for the Mann Cup in their hometowns than in Minnesota for the Champions Cup.
Heck, is there anything else to do in Canada in the summer.
