Calgary Roughnecks website - Summer Update 2

In this story on the Calgary Roughnecks website, at the bottom of the story is the following:

July 26 – Expansion Draft
July 31 – Deadline for Qualified offers to Veteran players
Aug 1 – Franchise Player designation due date
Aug 2 – Free Agency Signing begins
Aug 15 – Last day for players under 21 & NCAA renounciation to declare for 2007 Entry Draft
TBD – 2007 NLL Entry Draft

The 12th and 26th of July are on Thursdays if it matters. I think they will have the draft in New York again this year but if they don't I could see the draft in Vancouver, if they are approved for 2008, during the Minto Cup, the Canadian Junior A championship, from August 24 to September 1 in New Westminster, British Columbia.

NLL Entry Draft maybe Sept 1

This is a reply about the NLL Outdoor Showcase on September 1 in Denver.

The rumor is that the draft is to be held earlier in the day in Denver then the NLL Outdoor Showcase at 7pm MST.

The NLL Outdoor Showcase is a game in which the Mammoth will play other NLL stars in an outdoor game to see if the NLL going outdoor is a good idea. No Swarm players have yet been announced to play in the game but hopefully someone like Ryan Ward gets the chance to play in this game.

The date of the expansion draft is now in question with dates like July 23 and July 31 popping up. I will still go with the Roughneck website piece I have from above but I know it's not today.

The expansion draft is on Tuesday, July 31 not the 26 as I mentioned above. The below quote is Shamrox Scoop Volume 2 Edition 6 June 2007. It looks like the NLL entry draft is tentatively scheduled for Sept 1.

I subscribe to many of the various NLL team newsletters that get sent out periodically, so I can spy on the rest of the league in service for the Swarm. Okay, I subscribe to them so I can actually get somebody to email to me.

The off-season is a busy time as to teams and rosters. The National Lacrosse League Expansion Draft is scheduled for Tuesday July 31. Boston will have a franchise in 2008 and they will be selecting players left unprotected by NLL teams. And the NLL College Entry Draft is tentatively scheduled for September 1.
