Congratulations to Dish for sure. Ever since he got to Portland mid season last year, he has really gone up a level or two in play.
Each team gets at least one player on the All-Star team with 12 spots left to be announced later this week. So who will make it for the Swarm? I don't think it will be any of the goaltenders. The second goaltender will probably be Pat Campbell of Calgary. Now there are eleven spots. Ryan Cousins has made the All-Star team in each of his first four years for the Swarm, so I wouldn't be surprised if he makes it five. Maybe not sure if he deserves it but I think he has a chance. Nick Inch, I think has been the best defenseman for the team and could get the nod. Ryan Ward has made it the last two years and along with Kevin Ross are the team's leading scorers. Maybe Andrew Watt or Kevin Fines may slip in as a transition player. They are my darkhorse picks. So I think we may get two players in but no one has really made a clear cut case to make the team, in my opinion. Probably Cousins and either Ward or Inch. Here is a look at who's already in and who may be added throughout the West later this week. Forwards Colin Doyle - San Jose Stealth Josh Sanderson - Calgary Roughnecks Dan Teat - Edmonton Rush Possible reserves: Ward, Ross, Zywicki, Kelusky, Prout, R. Powell, Toth, Dobbie, Langtry, Duch, Conway Transition Brodie Merrill - Portland LumberJax Possible Reserves: Watt, Fines, Shattler, Moleski, Stewart, Carlson Defensemen Bruce Murray - Colorado Mammoth Possible Reserves: Cousins, Inch, S. Self, McBride, McKay, Hodgson, E. Martin, Codron, R. Morgan, Gallant Goaltender Matt Disher - Portland LumberJax Probable Reserve: Campbell |

I'm thinking Cousins as the sole addition.

I'm thinking Cousins as the sole addition. Really? Do you think his play this year warrants such an honor? No disrespect, I love Cuz, but by this time last year he had some offensive heroics and was a rock on D and great in transition. I've hardly noticed him this year so far. I think going on name alone is a mistake. just my opinion, however. |

I actually think that the defense is doing okay, and he is a big reason because of that. Apart from Cuz, Wardo is the only other roleplayer that seems to be consistent, except in the end the ball aint hitting twine. |

I think it will be Cousins too. I think he'll get a break from the selectors because of his injury. I think that Cousin's has shown great spirit and courage. I hope I'm wrong though, because Nick Inch has really stepped up his game. I think that Inch's play is really a key to Cousin's injury not affecting the defense to the degree that it could have. If it were my choice, I would be taking Inch.
